"Starship rocket set for major upgrades, says Musk"

SpaceX founder Elon Musk announced that the company is implementing over a thousand changes to its Super Heavy-Starship rocket and launch pad before its second attempt to reach orbit, which is expected to happen in six weeks. The modifications include a "hot staging" technique, which will improve the performance of the Super Heavy-Starship by reducing the velocity lost between first stage engine shutdown and ignition of the upper stage engines. The company is also addressing engine problems and damage to the launch pad. Musk estimates that SpaceX has invested over $2 billion in the Super Heavy-Starship program to date.
