Bloomberg Reimagines the Terminal as a Chatbot-Driven AI Assistant

Bloomberg is testing ASKB, a chatbot-style AI interface atop multiple language models to help traders quickly surface insights from the Terminal’s massive data trove. Users can ask high-level questions (like how geopolitical events affect a portfolio), build workflow templates, and receive synthesized, sourced summaries with validation checks to curb hallucinations. Currently in beta with about one-third of users, Bloomberg envisions ASKB becoming the main way to interact with the Terminal, while keeping GUI options; the goal is to accelerate analysis and surface alpha, not replace human expertise.
