EU Launches Investigation into Elon Musk's Platform X for Social Media Law Violations

The European Union has launched an investigation into social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, over possible breaches of the Digital Services Act (DSA). The probe will examine whether X adequately addressed the spread of illegal content and manipulated information, including through its crowd-sourced fact-checking feature. It will also assess issues related to user interface and access to researchers. X has stated its commitment to complying with the DSA and cooperating with the regulatory process. Under the DSA, online platforms with over 45 million active users must actively combat illegal content and protect against manipulative techniques.
