Revolutionizing Weather Forecasting with Commercial Radar Satellites.

Tomorrow.io, a weather intelligence company, has launched the world's first commercially built weather-radar satellite, Tomorrow-R1, via SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket. The company plans to launch more than two dozen of its own satellites over the next two years to create a 'constellation' of weather monitoring systems that will be able to sample every point on earth, nearly every hour. The new radar satellite will offer a much broader scope of data, which will help improve hurricane forecasting, insurance for farmers, and airline routes. Major clients include Delta, United, JetBlue, Fox Sports, Uber, Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and the U.S. Air Force.
