SpaceX commits to Nvidia-exclusive AI infrastructure, touts space-based servers

SpaceX says it will exclusively build its AI services on Nvidia hardware, touting Nvidia's Vera Rubin architecture as the best AI computer and planning to deploy Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems both on the ground and in space as part of its Starmind satellite program, aiming for over 2 gigawatts of compute this year and close to 10 gigawatts by the end of next year, while noting space-based data centers could bypass land and cooling challenges alongside its growing cloud/data-center partnerships.
