Subaru's 2027 Trailseeker EV debuts under $40k with 375 hp and 281-mile range

Subaru says the 2027 Trailseeker EV starts at $39,995, packs 375 hp with standard AWD, a 74.7 kWh pack delivering up to 281 miles, and 150 kW DC fast charging (10–80% in ~28 minutes). It rides on three trims—Premium, Limited, and Touring—and features a 14-inch infotainment screen, X-MODE AWD tuning, and interior upgrades. Availability is this fall, with six color options and a $1,475 destination/delivery fee noted. Subaru positions it as a rugged, go-anywhere EV rival to the Tesla Model Y AWD, while also noting a smaller Uncharted EV starting at $35,000 arriving soon.
