Volvo’s 2028 XC60 and XC90 Deliver Double EV Range and Smarter Safety

TL;DR
Volvo’s 2028 XC60 and XC90 plug-in hybrids get a major range boost thanks to a larger 41.2 kWh battery, delivering 78 miles of all-electric range for the XC60 and 73 miles for the XC90 (with about 590 and 560 total miles respectively when combined with gasoline). Both maintain a 455 hp system and quick 0–60 times (about 4.5s for the XC60 and ~4.9s for the XC90), while adding enhanced safety sensors, lane-change assist, 360-degree cameras, and OTA updates. The interior brings an 11.2-inch Google-based display with Gemini, and exterior styling remains understated. Pricing isn’t disclosed yet; sale is expected in early 2027.
