Cancelled: Three-Year Cruise Cut Short

Life at Sea Cruises has canceled its inaugural three-year voyage, leaving passengers who had paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for the experience stranded and without a ship. The company cited financial difficulties and investor withdrawal as reasons for the cancellation. Passengers, many of whom had sold their homes and possessions in anticipation of the trip, now face a wait of several months to receive their refunds. Former CEO Kendra Holmes, who resigned from the company, has announced plans to offer a new long-term cruise with a different company, while a rival business set up by former Life at Sea staffers is also promising a similar experience.
