"July 4th Travel Nightmare: Record-breaking Delays and Cancellations Expected"
TL;DR
The July Fourth weekend is expected to see a "record-breaking" number of travelers in the US, with millions of people traveling by car and over 2.8 million flyers expected to be screened by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). However, there have been significant delays and cancellations in the past week, particularly in airports in the northeast, which may impact travel plans. Travelers are advised to enroll in expedited security programs like TSA PreCheck and Clear, monitor flight status, and have backup plans in case of delays or cancellations.
