"United and Delta Airlines to Resume Direct Flights to Israel in March"

United Airlines is set to become the first US-based carrier to resume flights to Israel following the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks, with plans to restart daily service from New York/Newark to Tel Aviv in March. The airline will initially stop at Munich International Airport in Switzerland to ensure readiness for non-stop service, with a goal to fully resume daily nonstop service from Newark on March 6. Other US carriers, American Airlines and Delta, also suspended flights to Israel after the attacks, with Delta planning to resume flights on May 1. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby credited the decision to "tireless collaboration between security experts and government officials," with non-American airlines also beginning to resume flights to Tel Aviv.
