The five‑story, 300,000-square-foot museum houses 1,300 works from a 40,000-piece collection, including Star Wars artifacts, and blends fine art with popular imagery. After failed attempts in San Francisco and Chicago, Los Angeles was chosen in 2017 and construction faced pandemics and supply delays. Admission is $25 (under 17 free), with LM37 free access for nearby residents, and Lucas called the effort “almost broke my will.”
