Marr’s Guitars Collection to Hit the Block at Christie's London Sale

Christie’s will auction Marr’s Guitars: The Johnny Marr Collection in London on 17 September 2026, showcasing around 80 guitars across about 95 lots with estimates from £1,000 to £150,000; highlights include Marr’s 1982 Rickenbacker 330 Jetglo, 1960 Cherry Red Gibson ES-355, a 1984 Roger Giffin Korina Telecaster, a 1971 Martin D-28, a 1984 Gibson Les Paul Standard, and a 2017 Fender Johnny Marr Signature Jaguar; several guitars were used on his new album The Age Of Everything and in film scores; highlights will tour to New York (25 June–1 July) before a London pre-sale (9–16 September); 10 lots' hammer prices will be donated to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association and The National Autistic Society; Christie’s emphasizes Marr’s influence from The Smiths and beyond, tracing his career through the instruments that shaped his sound.
