Daveigh Chase: Ring's Samara and Lilo's Voice Dies at 35

Daveigh Chase, the actress famous for Samara in The Ring and the voice of Lilo in Disney's Lilo & Stitch, has died in Los Angeles at 35 from sepsis after meningitis, following a period of malnourishment. Her longtime manager said she preferred independent projects and a simple life over Hollywood glitz. Chase began acting at four, rose to fame with The Ring and Donnie Darko/S Darko, and also starred in Big Love; she won an MTV Movie Award for Best Villain (2003) and an Annie Award for Lilo & Stitch, though she later faced legal issues and retired from acting in 2015.
