"Dinosaur-Like Alligator Snapping Turtle Captured in UK Beauty Spot"
TL;DR
An alligator snapping turtle, native to the southern US, was discovered in a Cumbrian tarn by a dog walker and rescued by a local councillor. Named Fluffy, the turtle was taken to a vet and is now being cared for at a veterinary center. Considered an invasive species, the turtle poses a threat to the environment due to its voracious appetite and potential for causing harm as it grows. It will be rehomed in a zoo or with a private keeper after being cared for by the veterinary center.
