Gyllenhaal On Directing Brother Jake and Embracing Envy
TL;DR
Maggie Gyllenhaal says she waited until she was certain about asking her brother Jake Gyllenhaal to appear in a cameo for her Gothic romance The Bride!, describing the moment as emotional; she also discusses her fascination with envy and how she learned to see competitive feelings as overlapping rather than competing, noting there’s “enough to go around.” The Bride! hits theaters March 6 and stars Jessie Buckley, Christian Bale, Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening and Penélope Cruz.
