Foo Fighters' Powerful Exploration of Grief and Loss on Latest Album
TL;DR
Foo Fighters' new album, But Here We Are, is a response to the grief of losing drummer Taylor Hawkins and frontman Dave Grohl's mother. The album is back to basics, with muscular chords and melodic riffs, and features a stunning response to the pain of last year in the epic, shape-shifting rock song The Teacher. Grohl's honesty and vulnerability about his loss may inspire other writers to tackle the subject of male friendship in music.
