Sony brings free ad-supported Live TV to PS5 in the U.S., with anime lineup

Sony launched a free ad-supported Live TV service on PS5 in the U.S. with 100+ live channels and an on-demand library, accessible after signing into a PSN account, and it includes anime such as Naruto, Sailor Moon, Hunter x Hunter, and Death Note; expansion to Canada and other regions is planned. The company also disclosed that from January 2028 all new PS5 disc releases will be digital-only, PS3/PS Vita Store closures will roll out regionally through 2027, and prices for PS5 hardware and the PS Portal will rise starting April 2, 2026.
