TL;DR

New York City is set to experience rain and chilly temperatures over Thanksgiving, with showers starting Wednesday night and continuing into Thursday morning. This rain is a welcome relief from the region's historic drought, though it won't fully alleviate the dry conditions. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will proceed despite the wet weather, as the parade's balloons are waterproof. Temperatures will drop significantly over the weekend, with highs barely reaching 40 degrees and lows below freezing.
