Mosquito Alert: Floods and Snowpack Increase Population and Risk.

The flooding in Utah is expected to bring a lot more mosquitos this spring and summer, including a new type of mosquito that lays its eggs in flood zones. These floodwater mosquitos are more aggressive and bite harder, but do not carry diseases that could harm humans. Mosquito abatement teams are working to remove standing water, and homeowners are advised to do the same to prevent breeding areas for mosquitos.
