Rockville Gene Therapy Company Makes Progress Toward HIV Cure

American Gene Technologies is creating a new company called Addimmune to exclusively continue its HIV research and trials, citing strong, positive clinical trial results for its potential HIV cure. The new company will take American Gene Technologies’ Rockville space and 50 of its existing employees. Results of American Gene’s HIV Phase One human clinical trial were published last November, showing its modified gene treatment is safe and durable. Phase Two clinical trials are expected to begin in early 2024, focusing on efficacy.
