Everett Gospel Mission to triple shelter footprint with $30M expansion

Everett’s Gospel Mission is moving forward with a $30 million redevelopment that would more than double the shelter beds by connecting two adjacent warehouses to the current Smith Avenue campus, creating a three-structure complex that expands shelter, health, and recovery services. The project includes separate spaces for men and women, detox and stabilization rooms, medical resources, and programs like housing navigation and mental health therapy. Construction is slated to begin later this year, with phase one opening by winter 2027 and full completion by 2029, funded by a mix of city, county, state investments and private donations. The expansion is aimed at meeting rising demand amid homelessness and impending winter shelter needs.
