At the ACTRIMS Forum 2024, interim analysis of a Phase 2 study showed that vidofludimus calcium, an experimental oral therapy by Immunic Therapeutics, reduced nerve damage marker levels in people with all subtypes of progressive multiple sclerosis (MS), indicating potential neuroprotective effects beyond its anti-inflammatory properties. The treatment also demonstrated promise in reducing fatigue in COVID-19 patients, suggesting a possible link to easing MS-related fatigue. Ongoing Phase 3 trials are expected to provide further insights into the medication's efficacy.
