WHO urges fully funded, decisive push to break Ebola transmission in DRC

WHO Director-General Tedros says breaking every transmission chain is essential to stop the DRC Ebola outbreak, which has killed over 3,000 and is the fastest-growing, deadliest in the country’s history, hindered by conflict and a funding gap of more than $1 billion; many new cases occur outside known contacts, while vaccine trials proceed with plans for rapid deployment if effective.
