French Bulldogs Reign as America's Top Dog Breed
TL;DR
The French bulldog has become the most popular dog breed in the US, ending the Labrador retriever's 31-year reign, according to the American Kennel Club. The French bulldog has risen in popularity in recent years, ranking 14th in 2012 and second in 2021. However, experts warn that some bulldog breeds are susceptible to health complications. The rankings are based on voluntary registration statistics and do not include mixed-breeds or designer hybrids.
