Chipotle Settles Child Labor Allegations, Pays $322,400 to D.C.

Chipotle has agreed to pay $322,400 to the District of Columbia and implement new workplace protocols to settle allegations of violating child labor laws. The fast-food chain was accused of allowing minors to work past curfew, exceeding maximum working hours, and working more than six consecutive days. Chipotle denied the allegations but agreed to the settlement. As part of the agreement, the company will provide training on labor law compliance and review the city's child labor policy with newly hired minors. The settlement funds will be used to connect District youths with apprenticeships and workforce training opportunities.
