Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has criticized The Walt Disney Co.'s lawsuit against his efforts to strip the company of authority over its Walt Disney World property as "political" and without merit. Disney claims that DeSantis' moves against the company were retaliation for its opposition to a parental rights bill last year. DeSantis defended his actions as putting the company on an equal playing field with other theme parks and resorts, and said that the days of putting one company on a pedestal with no accountability are over in the state of Florida.
