Minnesota Governor Vetoes Rideshare Driver Pay Bill Amid Controversy

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz vetoed a bill that would have mandated higher pay and job security for Uber and Lyft drivers in the state, citing that the legislation wasn't ready to become law. Uber threatened to cut off services to all of Minnesota except Minneapolis-St. Paul, where it would've only offered premium priced services, if the legislation was signed. The bill was championed by Democratic Sen. Omar Fateh, of Minneapolis, who was lifted into the air by drivers outside the Senate chamber right after the bill passed Sunday.
