$100M Lawsuit Filed by Family of Georgia Woman Who Died After Falling from Patrol Car

The family of Brianna Grier, a 28-year-old mother of twin daughters who died after falling out of a moving patrol car while in custody during a mental health crisis, has filed a $100 million civil rights lawsuit against two deputies and the Hancock County Sheriff's Office. The lawsuit claims that the deputies participated in gross negligence that led to Grier's wrongful death. The district attorney decided against bringing the case to a civil or criminal grand jury, but the family and civil rights leaders demanded a full accounting of her arrest and subsequent death.
