2 Million Lives Lost: Report Exposes Deadly Impact of Extreme Weather Since 1970

A recent report has revealed that extreme weather conditions have killed two million people since 1970. The current heatwave in Europe and the US is being attributed to climate change, with experts warning that every heatwave occurring in Europe today is made more likely and more intense by human-induced climate change. The present heatwave is not the only notable indicator of climate change, with ongoing droughts also being in line with scientific predictions. The likelihood of experiencing such hot summers has risen from a less than 10 per cent chance in the 1980s to as high as a 25 per chance today.
