California teen charged with murder and sexual assault in death of 2-year-old cousin

A 17-year-old in San Jose, who has since turned 18, was charged with murder and multiple felonies for allegedly sexually assaulting and physically abusing his 2-year-old cousin and foster brother, Baby Jaxon, who died days after being found unresponsive. Santa Clara County District Attorney Jeff Rosen says the case should be tried as an adult, and investigators are reviewing the Department of Family and Children Services’ involvement as the case unfolds. A court date is set for May 21 as authorities continue the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child’s placement and death.
