San Jose completed California's first accessory dwelling unit (ADU) sale to be owned as a separately titled condo—a 749-square-foot, two-bedroom unit that sold for $530,000 as part of an ADU condominium conversion under Assembly Bill 1033, signaling a potential new route to affordable homeownership in a high-cost market.
