Denver School Shooting Suspect Found Dead in Park County

The suspected shooter of Denver East High School, Austin Lyle, died by suicide, and Denver Public Schools’ superintendent declared that police officers will be put back in schools. Denver District Attorney Beth McCann called on Colorado lawmakers to pass stricter gun control as demanded by East High students who recently walked out of class and testified in the state capitol. McCann also vowed to aggressively prosecute juveniles involved in violence and provide alternatives such as mental health and substance misuse treatment, job training, and counseling through diversion programs for students involved in crime.
