Family of woman killed by San Antonio police officers to file lawsuit.

The family of Melissa Perez, who was shot and killed by three San Antonio police officers, plans to file a lawsuit against the city over her death. The officers, who were charged with murder, were responding to a call about Perez cutting wires in her apartment complex. Police Chief William McManus said Perez appeared to be having a mental health crisis and that the officers' actions were not consistent with SAPD's policy and training. The family's attorney said Perez's death was an extreme instance of excessive force by San Antonio police officers.
