Fatal Hit-and-Run: Providence Woman Faces Charges

A 27-year-old woman, Caitlin Kelly, has been charged in a deadly hit-and-run incident in Providence, Rhode Island, where an 85-year-old woman, Vanda Makovetskiy, was hit and killed by a vehicle. The victim's son-in-law expressed heartbreak over the incident, and the family is shocked and outraged that the driver didn't stop. This is the second fatal hit-and-run at the same location this year. Kelly is facing charges and is being held until the next district court session. Providence Mayor Brett Smiley acknowledged the need for adjustments to improve pedestrian safety in the area.
