Fatal Shootings Rock Hueytown and Bessemer Communities

A 21-year-old man, Romeo Bruce Bankhead, was killed in a predawn shooting at an Exxon gas station in Hueytown. This marks the third homicide in Hueytown this year and the second in just over a week. The police have not released any additional details about the shooting, and it is not believed to be connected to a previous shooting death in the area. The total number of homicides in Jefferson County, including those in Hueytown, now stands at 149.
