Arrest Made After Shots Fired Outside Hueytown High School
Eunethia Arnette Shackleford, 30, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a deadly weapon on school grounds after firing shots outside of Hueytown High School following a basketball game. The incident occurred in the school parking lot, and Shackleford is currently held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $67,500 bond.
Fatal Shootings Rock Hueytown and Bessemer Communities
A 21-year-old man, Romeo Bruce Bankhead, was killed in a predawn shooting at an Exxon gas station in Hueytown. This marks the third homicide in Hueytown this year and the second in just over a week. The police have not released any additional details about the shooting, and it is not believed to be connected to a previous shooting death in the area. The total number of homicides in Jefferson County, including those in Hueytown, now stands at 149.
