Florida parents charged in hot-car death of toddler left alone for 15 hours

A Florida couple has been arrested on charges of child neglect and possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia following the hot-car death of their 2-year-old daughter. The girl was left in a car outside the couple’s home for about 14 hours while they were inside the entire time. Deputies found methamphetamine in the home, tested the parents' blood, and additional charges are forthcoming pending the results of the autopsy. The girl’s 4-year-old sibling was turned over to the Department of Children and Families. This marks the fourth hot-car death in the U.S. so far this year and the second one in Florida.
