Irvine Doctor Indicted for Poisoning Husband with Drain Cleaner in Tea

Yue “Emily” Yu, an Irvine dermatologist, has been indicted on three counts of poisoning and one count of domestic battery with corporal injury after allegedly poisoning her husband with liquid drain cleaner over several weeks. Video footage captured Yu pouring the liquid into her husband’s tea, which was left on the counter. The substance was confirmed to be consistent with drain cleaner. Yu faces more than eight years in prison and is required to self-report to the Medical Board of California. Her attorney claims there are innocent explanations for the images caught on video.
