Man Arrested After Alleged Arson Attempt at Vancouver Gas Station

A man was taken into custody after attempting to start a fire at a Shell gas station in Vancouver, Washington, early Tuesday. Police say he poured gasoline around the pumps and on a parked truck, lit his own car and himself on fire, then fled on foot. Fire crews extinguished the resulting car fire and later found the man beneath a nearby semi-truck; he was hospitalized for treatment. No other injuries were reported, and the Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
