Mother charged with DUI after children killed retrieving luggage on California freeway.

Two children were killed on a California highway after running onto the road to retrieve luggage, and their mother has been charged with driving under the influence in connection to their deaths. Sandra Ortiz, 33, was booked on multiple felony counts of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter. The incident took place just before 6:10 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of State Route 78 in Vista. The family was en route to a park to celebrate Father's Day when the incident occurred.
