No Charges for Mississippi Officer Who Shot 11-Year-Old Boy

A grand jury in Mississippi has declined to indict a police officer who shot and wounded an unarmed 11-year-old boy during a domestic dispute call. The officer, Indianola Police Sgt. Greg Capers, was found to have not engaged in criminal conduct. The boy, Aderrien Murry, suffered serious injuries from the gunshot wound and was hospitalized for five days. The family plans to seek accountability through a federal civil lawsuit. The Attorney General's Office stated that no further criminal action would be taken against Capers at the state level.
