Philly man arrested in Barkley home break-in tied to multi-county jewelry thefts

A 24-year-old Philadelphia man, Jabir Parker, was arrested in connection with the attempted break-in of Saquon Barkley’s Chester County home and two earlier jewelry thefts in Bryn Mawr and Wynnewood. Prosecutors say Parker burglarized Bryn Mawr on June 22 (12 pieces worth about $106,700) and Wynnewood on July 5 (28 pieces worth over $687,000), and then attempted to break into Barkley’s Malvern home on July 18 while Barkley and his family were inside. Investigators used geo-fencing, a nanny-cam recording, and a getaway-driver link to identify Parker, who was arrested September 1 with help from multiple agencies. He faces multiple felonies including burglary and conspiracy; bail is $1 million with a Sept. 10 court date. Authorities are asking for information on the getaway driver and the whereabouts of the stolen jewelry.
