Raul Meza Jr. indicted for multiple Austin area murders

Raul Meza Jr., 62, has been indicted by a grand jury for the 2019 death of his neighbor, Gloria Lofton, and the 2023 death of Jesse Fraga. Meza faces capital murder and murder charges in Lofton's case, with the grand jury ruling that he strangled Lofton during an attempted aggravated sexual assault. He is also charged with murder and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Fraga's death. Meza had previously been convicted of murdering an 8-year-old in 1982 and served 11 years in prison before being released on parole. Police believe he may be connected to additional murders.
