Shelby County Deputies Shot in Attempted Murder Case.

John Russell “Jack” Thomason has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of criminal trespass for shooting two Shelby County sheriff’s deputies while they were performing a welfare check at a Meadowbrook home. The deputies were treated and released from UAB Hospital. Thomason was taken into custody after he surrendered. The incident is under investigation by the Shelby County Major Crimes Task Force and District Attorney Matt Casey.
