Social media influencer convicted of faking kidnapping in California.

A California social media influencer, Kathleen Sorenson, has been convicted of making a false report of attempted kidnap after blaming a Latino couple for trying to abduct her children in a viral Instagram video and false police report. Sorenson gained tens of thousands of new followers after the video went viral. She was cleared of two other counts of filing a false police report but faces a maximum of six months in jail. Her lawyer said they are disappointed with the verdict and will evaluate their options moving forward.
