Spate of Shootings in Kansas City Leaves Multiple Injuries and Deaths

Three Kansas City police officers were injured in a shootout during an undercover fentanyl deal, along with multiple suspects who were heavily armed. The officers had previously purchased fentanyl pills from the alleged dealers and were attempting to purchase more when the drug deal failed and gunfire erupted. All involved are expected to survive, and the suspects are believed to be in custody. The Kansas City, Missouri, police are leading the investigation into the shooting of the suspects, while the KCKPD will handle the investigation into the aggravated assault of its officers.
