DC fines Lewis George campaign for alleged labor-union coordination

The District’s Office of Campaign Finance fined mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George’s campaign $16,000 after investigators found improper coordination with labor unions and an independent expenditure committee that spent about $1 million supporting her; the union-backed group Safe & Affordable DC was fined $4,000.
