Down syndrome college football player sues alma mater for discrimination

Caden Cox, the first known athlete with Down syndrome to play in a college football game, is suing Hocking College for alleged discrimination, assault, and harassment he faced as a student. Cox's supervisor, Matthew Kmosko, consistently made abusive, derogatory, and inappropriate comments to Cox, according to the lawsuit. The suit alleges that Cox was discriminated against because of his disability, violating the federal Americans with Disabilities Act and state anti-discrimination law. The lawsuit asks for a jury trial and seeks punitive and compensatory damages.
