LPS Cancels Early Childhood Classes for Midweek

Lincoln Public Schools in Nebraska has canceled early childhood classes for Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme heat, reducing heat exposure for the 850 preschool students who are transported during the hottest part of the day. Classes will resume on Friday, while meetings with early childhood families will still be held as planned. However, classes for students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade will continue as scheduled, with the superintendent emphasizing that school buildings provide central air conditioning, which may not be available in all students' homes.
