Rutgers Faculty Unions Vote to Strike Amidst Talks Breakdown.

Leaders of three faculty unions at Rutgers University have declared a strike, the first in the school's history, after negotiations stalled over new contracts for the 9,000 professors, part-time lecturers, and graduate student workers they represent. The strike is expected to disrupt classes for more than 67,000 students on Rutgers’ New Brunswick-Piscataway, Newark, and Camden campuses. Picket lines will go up on all three Rutgers campuses at 9 a.m. Monday, union officials said.
